Welcome to HSNetwork, my own personal site on wireless security and how to use it.
This site is for the use and benefit of anyone wishing to seek advice and needing it. Others I am sure will already be more than aware and familiar with routers, security and how to secure the wireless side of routers. To these individuals I ask if they have anything to add which may be of benefit to this site and the people who visit it.

As well as offering general advice on how and why you should really consider securing your router I will also be creating a section on the website which openly displays wireless networks I have found in the surrounding areas. Now let me just make this point clear, by displaying this information I will not be pointing anyone to where you live or where to get on a wireless access point open for use. I will be taking every measure possible to make sure all wireless access point remain anonymous. I also need to tell you that this procedure is not illegal in anyway and is not an infringement of your privacy.

In fact this method is known as war driving which, contrary to its name, is merely a method of gaining information which would be used for nothing more than statistics. What I will be aiming to do with this information is show just how many wireless networks exist and what proportion of this number are using a reasonable method of security, how many are just ok and then how many simply havent bothered or are completely unaware.
